Playing with your Newborn
Helpful and fun hands-on guidance toward more meaningful and confident interaction with your newborn. We’ll talk about why play is more important than you might think, when your newborn is most available to playing, and learn how bonding is different for each member of the family. I will model and help you create a "menu" of play that is a good fit for your family by offering many different suggestions and ways to connect. This interactive, encouraging, and supportive class is great for parents, grandparents, even babysitters!
Topics will include:
holding your baby for play
activities and tools for visual, audio, tactile & kinesthetic play
making music with your newborn
baby wearing and outdoor play
resources for further exploration
You will leave with materials and experience in many ways to play!
• Making faces and using pictures
• Stories, sounds, and toys
• Music to share: bounces, wiggles, tickles, clapping, tapping
• Dancing and lullabies
